One account. Every device.
And a little more on each one.

nordOFFICE runs in the browser, as a desktop app for Mac, Windows and Linux, and as an app for iPhone, iPad and Android. The interface is the same everywhere — but each app makes use of what its device can do: clocking in from the menu bar, files in the Finder, passwords via autofill, working time on the lock screen.

All apps are free and included in every licence. Some features require the matching app from the App Store, such as Clipboard or Passwords.

The desktop app: more than a browser window.

For Mac, Windows and Linux. It lives in the menu bar or notification area, is available instantly with a keyboard shortcut, and connects nordOFFICE with your computer — with features a browser cannot offer.

Clocking in from the menu bar

Clock in, take a break and clock out with one click, with the day's working time always in view. A running project timer sits right in the menu bar on the Mac, and in a small floating display on Windows and Linux — stop it or add minutes without opening the main window.

Files in the Finder and Explorer

On the Mac, the file storage appears under “Locations → nordOFFICE” in the Finder, with thumbnails. On Windows and Linux, the app syncs the storage in both directions with the “nordOFFICE” folder — your own files, team and customer folders, just as you know it from Dropbox.

Stay signed in, Touch ID instead of a password

The app remembers the device and keeps you signed in permanently — no typing in your password and two-factor code every day. After a deliberate sign-out, you sign back in on the Mac with Touch ID.

Phone in its own window

The softphone runs independently of the main window: a call stays active while you keep working in nordOFFICE or reload the page.

Keyboard shortcuts for everything important

nordOFFICE, phone, passwords, chat and AI chat open system-wide with a keyboard shortcut — even when another program is in the foreground. The shortcuts can be changed in the settings.

Clipboard history

With the “Clipboard” app, the desktop app remembers what you copy — encrypted, with search and pinned entries. Paste with a keyboard shortcut, as plain text if you wish. In the browser and on your phone you access the same history.

AI that never leaves your computer

If Ollama is running on the computer, the AI chat uses the local models: question and answer stay on the device — no cloud AI, no API costs. Access to nordOFFICE data continues to run with your user permissions.

Real system notifications

Whatever the bell reports in nordOFFICE appears as an operating system notification. One click takes you straight to the ticket, message or appointment; on the Mac with action buttons in the notification.

Sharing and links straight into the app

You send files from the Finder or Explorer to nordOFFICE via “Open With”. Links from e-mails, such as the daily summary, open the ticket or chat directly in the app instead of the browser.

Updates itself

The app checks for updates at launch and every four hours, and installs them on quit. It is signed for macOS and notarised by Apple, and signed to digitalNORD GmbH on Windows — no warning messages during installation.

iPhone, iPad and Android: the office in your pocket.

The apps put nordOFFICE on your home screen — with push notifications and connections to the operating system that go far beyond a web page.

Clocking in without opening the app

Clock in and out via a widget on the home or lock screen. On the iPhone, a Live Activity shows how long you have been clocked in, and from iOS 18 the switch is also available in Control Center. Android offers a tile in Quick Settings and an ongoing notification for this.

Files in the Files app

Your nordOFFICE storage appears in the iPhone's Files app and in Android's file picker. This lets you attach documents from nordOFFICE in any other app or save directly to it.

Share to nordOFFICE

Photos, PDFs and other files reach nordOFFICE through your phone's share menu — in the file storage, in a chat, on a project card or on a task.

Passwords via autofill

With the “Passwords” app, your phone fills in sign-in fields in apps and in the browser system-wide from the nordOFFICE vault — unlocked with Face ID or Touch ID, zero-knowledge encrypted, team vaults included.

Push notifications

New e-mails, chat messages, tickets and reminders reach you as push notifications. One tap opens exactly the item in question.

For smartphone and tablet

The interface adapts: on the phone it shows either the list or the detail view, and on the iPad and large Android tablets you work as you would on a computer.

And in the browser? It just works.

A current browser is all you need for the full range of features — no installation, on any computer. The apps complement this; they replace nothing.

  • All modules with the same interface as in the apps, sign-in with two-factor authentication or a company account on request
  • Office in the browser for Word, Excel and PowerPoint files — without a Microsoft 365 licence
  • Browser extensions for the password manager in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari
  • Calendar and contacts additionally via CalDAV and CardDAV in the programs you already use

Frequently asked questions

Do the apps cost extra?
No. The desktop, iPhone and Android apps are free and come with every licence. Billing works as always, per user or per app enabled from the App Store — some features, such as clipboard history or password autofill, require the matching app.
Which systems does the desktop app run on?
On the Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel), on Windows (x64 and ARM) and on Linux as an AppImage. Integration into the Finder requires macOS 13 or later; on older systems, as well as on Windows and Linux, the app syncs a folder on your computer instead.
Does the app also work with our own instance?
Yes. In the desktop app's settings you enter the address of your nordOFFICE instance — even if nordOFFICE runs in-house at your company. The mobile apps ask for the address when you sign in.
Can I work without an internet connection?
nordOFFICE works online with your instance, and that applies to the apps as well. On Windows and Linux, the synced files are also kept as a copy in the “nordOFFICE” folder on your computer; the app syncs changes as soon as the connection is back.
How long do I stay signed in?
Permanently. The desktop app remembers the device and renews the sign-in by itself at start-up — no password, no two-factor code. Only if you deliberately sign out do you sign in again; on the Mac, Touch ID is all it takes.
