What is PDF-PRO? A full PDF workplace in the browser: reorder pages, fill in forms, comment, sign and genuinely redact. PDF-PRO opens your files straight from Nextcloud, OneDrive, Google Drive and Dropbox — and puts them back in the very same place. Nothing is installed, nothing is passed to third parties, hosted in Germany.

No downloading, no uploading, no second file store: on opening, PDF-PRO asks where the file comes from — and saves it back there at the end.
From your cloud
Nextcloud, OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox connect it once in the settings. After that you browse the folder tree straight inside PDF-PRO and open the file with one click.
From the built-in store
PDF-PRO comes with 250 GB of file storage in Germany: your own folders, shared team folders and customer folders. Saving creates a new version — the previous one is kept.
Drag & drop
Drag a file from the file manager onto the window — done. Or pick it the classic way with From the device on your computer just as on your phone.

Thumbnails
Every page as a preview in the sidebar — with the page number and your current position in the document.
Drag & drop
Change the order by dragging a thumbnail to its new place. Several pages can be selected together.
Rotate
Rotate single pages or the whole selection in 90-degree steps — portrait and landscape switch along with it.
Delete
Remove pages you do not need; you can undo at any point until you save.
Crop
Drag out a frame and crop — for example to remove scan margins or headers.
Insert PDFs
Insert further PDF files anywhere in the open document.
Insert blank pages
Room for handwritten additions or separator sheets — in the format of the neighbouring page.
Zoom and full screen
Zoom smoothly and hide the sidebar when the detail matters.
Fill in, comment, sign.
All of it right on the page — even for PDFs that have no fillable form fields at all.
Place text
Write text anywhere and choose the font size freely — the usual route for forms that arrive as a plain PDF.
Highlight
Highlight passages in colour, in eight shades (yellow, green, blue, pink, purple, red, black, white).
Draw
Freehand line for ticks, circles and quick notes — with a mouse, trackpad or pen.
Shapes
Rectangle, line and arrow, to point at a spot or frame an area.
Comments
Pin notes to a spot — to raise a question with colleagues or as a reminder to yourself.
Signature
Draw it once or upload it as an image; from then on it stays available and is placed with a click — several times in the same document if needed.
Select and move
Every element you place stays movable: click it, move it, resize it or take it away again.
Undo
Every step can be undone. Only saving writes the changes into the file.

Redaction that deserves the name.
Putting a black rectangle over a passage is not redaction — in many programs it can simply be moved away again, and the text underneath is still in the document.
The text is removed
When you save, the redacted characters disappear from the document. Afterwards they can neither be selected, copied nor found by search.
Whole areas
Drag out a frame — everything inside it is affected, image content included, not just letters.
Full-text search
Search the whole document and jump to a hit. Handy for checking, before you pass it on, that nothing has really been left behind.
Metadata gone too
Author, software used, timestamps and XMP entries can be removed in one step before the file leaves the building.
The tools you would otherwise need a second program for.
Merge
Combine any number of PDFs into one document in the order you want.
Split
Split a document at points you choose — or extract individual page ranges.
Flatten forms
Burn completed form fields permanently into the page so nobody can change anything along the way.
Password protection
Set an open password with AES-256 or remove an existing password.
Stamps & watermarks
DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL or your own wording — across every page, adjustable in size and opacity.
Page numbers & footer
Apply numbering and a footer line to every page.
Text recognition (OCR)
Make scans searchable — locally on your own server, in German and English. No cloud service ever sees the document.
Document comparison
Compare two versions page by page: similarity per page plus removed and new passages.
Remove metadata
Delete author, title, creating software, dates and XMP — for images also EXIF and GPS.
Images to PDF
Combine several photos or scans into one PDF, one page per image.
In the end the file ends up where it belongs.
Back into the cloud
Opened from Nextcloud, OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox? Then PDF-PRO saves it back to exactly the same place.
As a new version
In the built-in store a new version is created with a version history — the previous one stays available, and a recycle bin keeps deleted items for four weeks.
As a copy or download
Store the result as a new file or save it straight to your own computer — the original stays untouched.
By link to the outside
Pass large files on through a protected share link, optionally with a password and an expiry date — instead of as an email attachment.

No external PDF service

Permissions per user
The permission system decides who sees which folders. Shares can be granted individually and withdrawn at any time.
Virus protection built in
Uploaded files are scanned; anything suspicious goes into quarantine instead of being passed around the team.
